Valor Performance provides a digital learning and coaching platform focused on igniting and sustaining peak performance for sales professionals, managers and executives. Valor combines personal weekly exercises with 1:1 performance coaching sessions to ensure clients receive the necessary mental preparation for operating at full capacity under pressure. The Gnar Company was hired to design and build the Valor’s software platform for professionals, as well as platform modules for Valor coaches and administrators.

Discovery and Design

Valor and The Gnar Company kicked off the work with a Design and Discovery project to define the target audience, brand values, user journey, and key app features. The discovery workshop was followed by designing app wireframes, brand assets, and final design comps, which facilitated a detailed estimate for the development effort.

Foundational Software

The Gnar Company built Valor's digital learning and coaching platform with a React front-end and Rails API back-end. Using Valor's platform, professionals can register, select notification preferences (SMS or email), perform weekly exercises, schedule coaching sessions, and track their progress.

Transition to Internal Technology Team

The Gnar Company assisted Valor in screening and interviewing for their initial engineering hires. Once Valor hired their first software engineer, the engineer worked closely with The Gnar team to transition the software and infrastructure to Valor's internal team.

Coach and Admin Modules

In addition to the core user experience, The Gnar Company built platform modules for coaches and company administrators. Coaches can monitor the progress of their clients and reference their exercises via the coaching platform. Valor admins can setup new users, assign coaches, and monitor progress across clients.

Integrations

The Gnar utilized multiple third-party services in Valor's web application such as Auth0, Twilio, Pusher, and Calendly to enable users to sign-in securely, receive SMS messages, send in-app messages, and schedule coaching sessions seamlessly.
